The National Audio-Visual Council (NAC) is a public, autonomous authority under the control of the Parliament and the warrantor of the public interest in the field of audio-visual communication.

The NAC is the only regulatory authority in the field of audio-visual program services in the terms of and by observing the provisions of the Audiovisual Law.

It has advisory competence towards other public authorities, without being empowered with legislative initiative.
